This page lists all the available sizes of portraits I offer together with their prices depending on medium and size. If there is a specific size you require that is not listed below, feel free to let me know and I can create a custom portrait for you.

Prices do not include packaging and postage. Postage and packaging depends on the size of the potrait and you can see them by scrolling down the page. To learn more about the ordering process, please go to my Order Information page where I have described the stages of a portrait commission.

Prices shown above are for one subject only.Portrait sizes up to 25 x 25cm (10 x 10 inches) and smaller are best suited for one subject. If you would like to include more than one subject in your portrait, please see prices for each extra subject below:

Background

There is a range of backgrounds I can create with your portrait. With head and shoulder portraits I usually create a colour shaded background in the case of acrylic paintings or leave background white in the case of a pencil drawing.

Where the portrait is a full body portrait, I will include a shaded or scenic background. If the reference photograph has a suitable background I will use it, for example grass, shrubery, etc. I can create a scenic background from another reference photo as well. If for example, your dog has a favourite spot for walks and you wish to place him/her there in your portrait, feel free to let me know when emailing me your photographs.

In any case the background is dependent on the main subject and I can suggest a background suitable for your portrait if you are unsure. You will always receive a free portrait proof before any work begins on your portrait, so you will know exactly what the composition of your portrait will look like when finished.

Postage and Packaging

I accept commissions from around the world. All finished artwork is carefully wrapped first in a plastic sheet or acid free tissue paper, then strengthened with cardboard, wrapped in several layers of cardboard wrap and finally posted in a strong polythene bag. This ensures safe delivery of your portrait. I use AnPost registered post for posting your portrait to you. You will receive your portrait within one to two days in Ireland.

Pencil drawings are posted in a conservation grade mount / matt with a strong backing board, which means they are ready for framing. Paintings are posted on a canvas or rolled in the case of oversized artwork (above 50 x 60 cm).
